Use
In various parts of the world have used for hunting big game, but particularly valued as a guard dog and family member.
General appearance
Rhodesian Ridgeback should be the embodiment of a balanced, strong, muscular, skilled and active dog, symmetrical profile and at an average speed of more than sustained. The main attention is paid to mobility, elegance and functional health, without any tendency to massive appearance. Specialty of the breed, the re-bar in the back / ridge /, which arises from the fact that the grain it grows in the opposite direction than the rest of the body.
Nature
Dignified, intelligent, reserved with strangers, but no signs of aggression or fear.
Size, proportion, substance
Height: for dogs 63 to 69 cm
for females 61 to 66 cm.
Desirable weight: in dogs is 36.5 kilograms

Head and Skull
Skull: Should be moderately long (width between ears, distance from occiput to stop and from stop to tip of nose should be equal), flat and broad between the ears, the release of his head does not form wrinkles.

Eyes
They should be slightly wide apart, round, clear and bright with an intelligent expression. Their color should blend with the color coat.
Ears

Nos
The nose should be black or brown. Black nose should respond dark eyes, brown amber.
Lips
Should be a tight fit to the jaws.
Teeth
Strong jaws with a perfectly tight and complete scissor bite. This means that the upper teeth closely overlapping the lower and stands vertically in the jaw. The teeth must be well developed, especially the canines.
Neck
It should be fairly long, strong and free skin.
Body
Loins: Strong, muscular and slightly arched.
Chest
It should not be too wide but very deep and spacious, the deepest point of the sternum should lie in the level of the elbow.
Chest: Seen from the side should be apparent.
Ribs: slightly arched, never barrel.

Forelegs

COAT
It should be short and dense, smooth and shiny, but not as wool or silk.
Stripe on the back which arises from the fact that hair grows in it in the opposite direction than the rest of the body is the hallmark of the breed. Stripe coat shall be clearly defined, symmetrical and tapering towards the loin. Must start immediately behind the shoulders and continue to kyčlím. Coat color

Rhodesian Ridgeback has always been my dream dog. I changed my profession, becauce I wanted to have time on Eginka. With my husband we bought Ega as a wedding gift and we never regret. It's just a family member. Even though I did not want to lay on the couch from the beginning there has its place, just "place"yet no company makes a comfortable seat as :-)). Still we like to let the Egi some ridgeback's friend to be able to play together, because I think that someone had such power is lacking.

Our Eginka is very fixated on the family, and sometimes we say it is definitely "junkie" :-), travel everywhere with us. She doesn't like, when she with another people. It'd better be closed for a moment alone in the house. She has wished us all together when one of us is missing try to put us together, just when the husband watches television and I was sleeping, going for him every half hour so he went to bed too. She loves walks, but the greatest joy for her is doing when husband takes the bike and go togethet to the forest. 

As we said we did.When all "A puppies" found their own home, in our home stayed Allain (we call it Allinka). Husband selected Alli, because we wanted to be very similar Sorbonn: o)).

Allinka with us now settled down and it's a nice dragon, when somewhere a staggering unfairness or (and this is her very best) are sometimes hunt deer, rabbit or cat so there must be a first: o)) and it also through the body, mostly to take home our three-year daughter Natalie, Allinka catapults Natalie from the bike (Natalie, of course, doesn't forget to report at home to dad and it is again badly: o))). Otherwise, it is absolutely amazing, even she did not mind the exhibition: o)), so I can realize a bit, we are not perfect, but not too bad: o)) and must come as a prize (even though we already have three - VN1 to which I duly proud: o))) and KV in Hustopeče we got a great competition, great.
